...in the shadow of the Monument, at the northern tip of New Jersey, is the High Point Cross Country Ski Center. Over 1600 feet in elevation guarantees that High Point is the snowiest spot in the metropolitan area. It's "New England", nearby! Discover an alpine hollow of lakes, trees, wildlife, and sweeping vistas.

News from High Point XC Ski Ctr.
Sunday, March 14, 2010 05:54 AM

The High Point Cross Country Ski Center is CLOSED, and it is still raining.  The temperature this morning is 38F.  There are several bare patches, and with the continued warm temperatures in the forecast the ski operation will open again if we receive more snow before the end of March.  We use a Prinoth snowcat to groom and during limited snow cover we use a snowmobile, roller, and track setter.  Stay tuned for ski condition updates early in the morning or late at night.

Sat. Dec. 5, '09, 9 am - 1 pm, NSP Nordic refresher with Jim Cowell, head of ski patrol. Welcomed all new patrollers! We now have 50+ patrollers at High Point with dual support from Mt. Creek, Hidden Valley, Campgaw, Shawnee, Camelback and Blue Mt.

A special "THANK YOU" goes out to the patrollers and ski instructors (volunteers) that have helped clear the trails and move into the ski lodge.

Check our events schedule for the 2009/10 winter season.

Rollerskiing is fun, and it helps you stay in great shape for snow skiing. Learning to rollerski is easy for a person already cross country skiing. Contact Hans regarding "Nordic Roller" rollerskis.

Bill Koch Youth Ski League is a great program for kids 12 years old and younger. We need adults and teenagers to get the program "snowballing" and connected to local school programs.  Sponsored by USSA.
